Abutment<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This is the connecter that\u2019s attached to the top of the\ndental implant. It serves as the attachment for the replacement tooth. It also\nhelps to guarantee that the new replacement tooth stays firmly in its place. The\nabutment tooth is a crowned tooth that supports and stabilized a bridge or\npartial denture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ceramic<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This is one of the materials that is often used to create\nthe replacement teeth that are placed on the end of dental implants. It\u2019s made\nfrom a type of clay and then hardened by heat. It is ideal because of its\nnatural-looking tooth-like appearance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Crown<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A crown, also known as a cap, is used to replace a single\ntooth that has become damaged, broken, or missing. They typically fit over an\nexisting tooth. In the case of dental implants, they are attached to the\nabutment to become perfectly grounded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dentures<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This traditional tooth replacement option is very popular.\nHowever, you may not know that there are several different types of dentures\navailable, like implant dentures. Instead of being held in by the natural\nsuction of your mouth, they are supported by dental implants. This allows for\nadditional longevity and stability compared to traditional dentures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Endosteal Implant<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This is the most common type of dental implant that\u2019s used.\nIn this case, the dentist will place the implant into the jawbone via a\nsurgical procedure. Every implant holds at least one replacement tooth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eposteal Implant<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Instead of being placed into the jawbone, eposteal implants\nare supported by resting on the jawbone. This isn\u2019t a very common option\nanymore, but this type of implant still may be suggested if a patient is as\nhigh risk of advanced bone resorption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Osseointegration<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This is the process in which the dental implant fuses with\nthe jawbone. This process improves the strength of both the jawbone and the\ndental implant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
